The Fruit tree planting and Advent Quiet Day is led by Jonathan Herbert and Richard Thornbury.
“Deepening our Connection with God and Creation”. Jonathan will lead 3 reflections on ‘Separation and Connection’ and there will be time for each participant to plant a tree as a sign of the Advent Hope.
Richard will lead an opportunity to help planting the friary’s new orchard that will be made up of 30 trees of local, heritage varieties of apple, pear, plum and cherry. This is part of our wider conservation work and is being planted as much to provide flowers, fruit and habitat for wildlife as fruit for us to eat.
We will be planting trees throughout the month. If you are unable to attend our Advent Quiet Day and tree planting event, you are still welcome to contact us and come and plant a tree! We are planting 100 fruit trees as part of our Centennial year. This is part of our conservation work, developing habitat and diversifying our land use.
