Churches Caring for Creation with Richard Thornbury and colleagues from A Rocha UK runs from Friday 22nd until Sunday 24th October. Arrivals from 4pm. The course starts at 6pm on the Friday and finishes at 12 noon on the Sunday. Guests depart after lunch.
The aim of this weekend is to affirm the importance of Creation Care to our churches in the shape of hands-on conservation and to equip you with some relevant skills to get stuck in. We will be sharing the joy and wonder of the beautiful wildlife here at the Friary, and exploring the ethos underpinning its care. There will be workshops and hands-on sessions looking at the practical skills necessary to help with conservation in your churches and at home. Subjects will include wildflowers, grassland fungi, bats, birds, boundaries, trees and more. There will also be time to learn about Arocha’s Eco Church programme and how your church can progress on its Eco Church journey.
Participants can come and stay with us for the whole weekend, or just drop in for the sessions they are most interested in. This event will be outside and hands on, practical clothes are a must. Suggested donation £140 residential or £25 for the day with lunch only
